Snapchat and Amazon join forces to offer new services within the social network
Snapchat, with its desire not to be left behind and regain strength after the stick of Instagram Stories, is working on its next update, which will not leave anyone indifferent. Snapchat and Amazon are collaborating to launch a new utility within the social network, in which Snapchat will allow the use of its front camera to identify objects that the user can buy directly on Amazon, knowing their reviews, ratings and sellers.
This update, which will be born from the union of Snapchat and Amazon, has been discovered by the revelation of the source code of the Snapchat app, where we discover this new function with the name of “Project Eagle”, where we can also verify that this collaboration of Snapchat with the e-Commerce giant will not be exclusive, but has more partners as we can see in its source code: “This works by sending data to Amazon, Shazam and other partners”
Shazam and Snapchat have previously teamed up to bring out a very similar function, where you can recognize songs within the app without having to download Shazam, and at the same time get details about them, such as the video clip, the lyrics or directly follow the artist on Snapchat .
Every time we see Amazon closer to social networks, last year it launched Amazon Spark, where it allowed its users to share images of their purchases to which they can react with emoticons, a function that inevitably reminds us of Facebook. But not only does it stop there, it also intends to take advantage of instant messaging with the launch of Anytime, with which you could connect with other Amazon users, send messages, make video conferences and share files such as photos, videos and even GIFs.
